The latest work on the Coorandale engine has resulting in a restructuing of the HUD. It's resolution has been increased, and the stats to the left have been replace with the inventory.

More work has been done on the Coorandale engine. Now the stats bar can be hidden. Sally's model has also been worked out so the back of her head isn't cut off.

Dlpha-RC4 Update |

Quite a bit of work has been done since the last update. Below is a screen shot of a new feature in Dlpha-RC4: party management!

The plot for the spiritual successor to Dlpha-RC4 (Dlpha-RC4 is merely an engine test) is also being worked on. It features Robotnik attempting to use a time machine to travel back and wipe out Sonic a co. before they can become a problem. His actions have unforeseen consequences when his experiment backfires, resulting in portals opening up to an alternate reality all over Mobius. |

Once again the Flight Commander Mod of the Year is going. I was hoping that it would be put up in 2008 as I was going to make a release on Christmas eve. That is not going to be the case.

I managed to recover Coorandale, Dlpha-RC4 and Perfect Plan from my dead computer. The computer I'm going to be working on has Flash 9 instead of Flash 7 so it will be interesting to see if there is going much of a difference. Ubuntu 7.10 is also coming on on the 18th so thats something to look forward to. |

Last week my computer crashed and has refused to boot on and off for the week. Now however, it seems completely dead. This might put a dint into the development of Coorandale, Perfect Plan and Dlpha-RC4. Hopefully there won't be any data loss.

I've been working on Perfect Plan for quite a bit now. The next release is going to be standalone and should at least feature three new missions. Almost all of the preexisting missions have been modified and three new ships have been introduced, the Hellcat, Bearcat and Assault Shuttle. There are currently two variations of the stock Bearcat with the Hellcat sporting just one. |

Dlpha-RC4 |

I've been working on Dlpha-RC4 a lot lately. This version is being built using the Coorandale engine and is coming along nicely. So far it is much more stable (doesn't use a command line at its core) and responsive then earlier RCs. So far the new version has the functionality of RC2 minus the inventory and ability to pick up things plus a team management system still in early stages.
SatAM Online: Dlpha began life as merely an engine test for SatAM Online Alpha 0.2b. It featured all new content separate from the main project (SatAM Online: New Beginnings) and was intended to help develop a platform on which SatAM Online: New Beginnings could be built and also attract new team members along the way. |

Ramp Way |

I've done another backdrop and a few minor tweaks. This backdrop is of the ramp way. It didn't turn out that good. The first tweak is that I changed how Sia enters the introduction scene, she is set to go where the player is instead of IBM lab; which is where the player originally was. I did this because I've changed the initial location. It is now Ramp Way instead of IBM lab. This is solely to show off the new backdrop. When I do the IBM lab backdrop I'll set it back to it as the intro scene.

I've finished yet another backdrop. This one is called Morrowpie, after the location it represents. I don't have an in-game picture, however I've got a few development shots showing various stages in its development. Note how the roof was started early on.

In the next release bitmap backgrounds will no longer be used. So far I've complete School Hall and Public Toilets. Since Public Toilets isn't used yet I'm using it as the Front of Collage until I feel up to making such an important backdrop.

Well here's a treat. I've uploaded the two prototypes which were proposed to replace Dlpha.
The first is a side on action based test. It was going to become The Two Kingdoms of Mobius. BFM stands for Battle for Mobius.
The other one was going on from the first person perspective. It was far to hard to maintain. It had great theory behind it though. TTD stands for Time to Die.
I've also linked the original prototype for SatAM Online, back when it was called The Ultimate SatAM Game Project. You can find it in the downloads section.

The next version of Coorandale is still a long way off. Large Camp has been renamed to Big Camp. Strength was misspelled as strengtg in the hub. Fixed a bug which prevented Sia from saying 'Drago, you've really got to plan ahead.' on day two. Some grammar has been corrected on the first day when Drago is talking to Aya. New introduction has been added. This one is used for all classes except Intellectual. Jarrah now has a school shirt, shorts and a jumper. All ties have been changed to dark blue. In an instance with Kaminari Kage, Drago Pain asks him why his wearing his school uniform. Wearing was misspelled as waring and wear misspelled was ware. In older versions the school logo was stored with the character picture. Now its seperate to save space and qualitiy. Aya has a new pose and new clothes.
I've uploaded the latest beta to the site. However its not an offical release. Reports any bugs. |
